Tucson, Arizona — February 16, 2026 — The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC's "Today" show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has stretched into its third week with no arrests and no confirmed sightings of the missing woman, but investigators report progress in analyzing key evidence as the family renews public appeals for her safe return.

According to reports: Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on February 1, 2026, after she failed to attend an online church service. Authorities believe she was forcibly taken from her home in the Catalina Foothills area near Tucson in the early morning hours of February 1. Surveillance footage from her doorbell camera captured a masked, armed individual at the residence around 1:47 a.m., and her pacemaker disconnected from Wi-Fi shortly after at 2:28 a.m. Officials have classified the case as a suspected abduction or kidnapping.

In the latest development on Monday, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos issued a statement clearing all members of the Guthrie family—including Savannah Guthrie, her siblings, and their spouses—of any suspicion in the disappearance. "The Guthrie family – to include all siblings and spouses – has been cleared as possible suspects in this case," Nanos said. "The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case." He criticized media speculation targeting relatives as "cruel" and urged compassion.

The FBI continues to lead aspects of the investigation, with a focus on DNA evidence recovered from a glove found approximately two miles from Guthrie's home in a field. The glove appears to match one worn by the suspect in doorbell footage, and preliminary DNA results indicate an unknown male profile. The sample has been entered into the national CODIS database for matching, raising hopes of a breakthrough. Authorities have collected multiple gloves from nearby areas, though most are attributed to search efforts.

Savannah Guthrie released a new emotional video plea on social media Sunday evening, addressing anyone who may have information or involvement. "It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken," she said. "Whoever has her, or knows where she is... it is never too late to do the right thing." She emphasized that the family "still has hope" and renewed calls for Nancy's return.

The FBI has doubled its reward to $100,000 for information leading to Nancy Guthrie's location or the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Officials report reviewing thousands of public tips—over 13,000 according to recent updates—along with leads from security footage and other evidence. No motive has been publicly confirmed, though sources indicate possibilities ranging from a botched burglary to other scenarios remain under consideration, with no leading theory yet established.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen voluntarily on the evening of January 31, when a family member dropped her off at home following a gathering. She is described as 5'4" tall, approximately 130 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department or the FBI.

As the investigation presses on with federal resources and public attention, the Guthrie family and community continue to hold out for positive news in what has become one of the most closely watched missing persons cases in recent memory. Updates are expected as DNA analysis and tip reviews progress.
