Yuma Mother and Boyfriend Arrested in Connection to Death of Two-Year-Old Son

YUMA, Ariz. — In a tragic development, 20-year-old Angelina Vasquez and her 23-year-old boyfriend, Miguel Garcia, were arrested on May 30, 2025, in Yuma, Arizona, following the alleged killing of Vasquez's two-year-old son and the concealment of his body, according to the Yuma Police Department.


The investigation began when officers responded to a report of a "suspicious incident" around 1:45 p.m. near the area of Vista Del Castillo Drive and 24th Street, just north of Interstate 8 on the eastern side of the city. Upon arrival, authorities discovered what appeared to be the human remains of a two-year-old boy, prompting the Yuma Police Department’s Investigations Unit to take over the case.


Police identified Vasquez, the child’s mother, and Garcia as suspects in the boy’s death. Both individuals were arrested and booked into custody on charges of first-degree premeditated murder and abandonment/concealment of dead body parts. Details surrounding the circumstances of the child’s death remain limited, as the investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the child’s name or the specific cause of death.
