Left wing media was slow to cover the war in Israel after social media platforms and Google announced they would deprioritize news content on their platforms earlier this year resulting in a massive drop in internet traffic to their websites. But they didn't stop working. NBC news was quick to identify social media accounts spreading fake news and called out right-wing pundits for 'sharing' that information. It was only after that, that left-wing news outlets started covering the war in Israel which at that point involved attacks on Hamas by Israel.
The fake news led an effort to make the right-wing news 'fake news.'
But pro-Palestinian support on social media led the charge for anti-Israel protests that were picked up and covered by the left-wing MSM - who all covered the white man in a Chicago suburb who allegedly killed a 6-year-old Palestinian boy in response to what the Chicago Sun-Times reported was caused by messaging he heard while listening to conservative talk radio. BLM Chicago was also the first pro-Palestine coverage of the war in Israel that preceded marches on college campuses across the country and now across the world.
