322 BCE: The Greek philosopher Aristotle is traditionally said to have died on this day in Chalcis, on the island of Euboea. His death marked the end of a monumental career that shaped Western philosophy, science, and logic.


1274: Thomas Aquinas, the influential medieval philosopher and theologian, died on March 7. His work, particularly the "Summa Theologica," remains foundational in Christian theology and Western thought.


1875: Composer Maurice Ravel was born in Ciboure, France. Known for works like "Boléro" and "Daphnis et Chloé," Ravel became one of the most celebrated figures in 20th-century music.
