There are several strategies that can be effective for advertising a new Shopify clothing store with a budget of $1000. Some of the best include:
Social media advertising: Platforms like Facebook and Instagram allow you to target specific demographics and interests, making it a cost-effective way to reach potential customers. You can create eye-catching ads and use features like carousel ads to showcase different products.
Influencer marketing: Partner with influencers in your niche to promote your clothing store. Influencers have a large following and can help increase brand awareness and drive sales.
Email marketing: Email marketing is a great way to keep in touch with customers and promote new products. You can use email marketing software like Mailchimp or Constant Contact to create and send newsletters, promotions, and other marketing materials.
Google AdWords: Google AdWords allows you to create and run ads on Google search and display network, it allows you to target specific keywords and demographics. This can be a great way to drive targeted traffic to your store.
Content marketing: Creating valuable content, such as blog posts, videos, and infographics, can help attract and engage potential customers. You can use your content to educate customers about your products, build brand awareness, and drive traffic to your store.
Referral marketing: Encourage your existing customers to refer their friends and family to your store. You can offer incentives, such as discounts or gift cards, to customers who refer others to your store.
It's important to note that, depending on your target audience, one strategy may work better than others, so it's important to test different strategies and see which one works best for your specific store and audience.
Most Shopify stores are not profitable and they take a commission from many of the apps you 'install' into their web template. Their web templates are very good. The market is oversaturated for the drop shipping companies they partner with and there are multiple companies layered in between the creator and the materials provider when it comes to print on demand companies. Most customizable options are good for one offs.
The cost went from $1/mo for the first 90 days to $39/mo for the Shopify store at the 6th month and some of the print on demand companies charge a membership fee for discounts. Not good unless you can sell easily sell $50 t-shirts which is what you will need to charge once you realize the actual cost. Average turn around from many print on demand companies is up to 2 weeks which makes it difficult to drop ship orders. Expect the average cost for a Shopify store to be about $100/month by the time you factor all of this in and then meet the 'minimum purchase' requirements they do not tell you about upfront. For example, after you have set up your store and offer designs, print on demand, etc., some 3rd party companies (apps you have installed) may notify you that you have a minimum purchase obligation in order to keep your account active with them, which may be in addition to a subscription fee.
Like most other platforms there is a lot they do not tell you up front. They also require that you provide them with tax information which seems unnecessary as they do not offer bookkeeping or accounting services unless that info is buried in their very difficult to navigate 'help' (FAQ pages) and setup of their payment gateway is unnecessarily complicated as they will not connect your pay out (pay to) account in a traditional manner and tell the user to run their own credit card through the system to test the payment gateway - do not attempt to do this as you credit card company can cancel your credit card for doing this.
