A car has crashed into the gates of Rishi Sunak’s official country residence, police have confirmed. The incident occurred on Tuesday, with the vehicle, a white Volkswagen Scirocco, hitting the barriers at the entrance to Chequers, the 16th-century estate in Buckinghamshire.


Arrest and Investigation

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and drink driving. The driver, from Buckinghamshire, suffered serious injuries in the crash and has been taken to hospital.


No Injuries Reported

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, which occurred shortly after midday. The police and fire service were called to the scene, and the area was sealed off for investigation.
