DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — April 30, 2025: The Trump Organization, in partnership with Qatari Diar and Dar Global, announced on Wednesday the development of Qatar’s first Trump-branded real estate venture, the Trump International Golf Course and Trump Villas, as part of the $5.5 billion Simaisma beachside development. Contrary to initial reports, the project does not include an 80-story Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubai, which is a separate initiative led by Dar Global and the Trump Organization in the United Arab Emirates.
The Simaisma project, located 40 kilometers north of Doha, is a collaboration between Qatari Diar, a state-backed real estate firm owned by the Qatar Investment Authority, and Dar Global, the international arm of Saudi Arabia’s Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company. The development spans 790,000 square meters within the larger 8 million-square-meter Simaisma masterplan, which aims to transform Qatar’s eastern coastline into a 7-kilometer-long entertainment and resort district. Key features include an 18-hole Trump International Golf Course, a Trump Golf Clubhouse, and high-end Trump-branded villas with beach and golf course views. The broader Simaisma project also includes a 650,000-square-meter theme park called The Land of Legends, a yacht marina, a beach club, and various cultural, retail, and dining experiences.
“This collaboration with Dar Global and the prestigious Trump brand reflects our commitment to developing world-class urban projects that combine luxury with authentic Qatari identity,” said His Excellency Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya, Qatari Diar Chairman and Minister of Municipality. Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organization, added, “We are incredibly proud to expand the Trump brand into Qatar through this exceptional partnership, delivering a beautiful golf course right on the ocean.”
Separately, Dar Global and the Trump Organization launched the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubai, an 80-story, 350-meter luxury development along Sheikh Zayed Road. This project, valued at approximately $1 billion, features lavish hotel rooms, suites, private lounges, and two penthouses inspired by the Trump Tower Penthouse on New York’s Fifth Avenue. The Dubai tower, expected to be completed between 2030 and 2031, aims to capitalize on the city’s thriving real estate and tourism sectors. “This iconic project reaffirms our confidence in Dubai’s long-term growth potential,” said Ziad El Chaar, CEO of Dar Global.
The announcements come weeks before President Donald Trump’s scheduled state visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates on May 13, 2025, raising questions about potential conflicts of interest. The Trump Organization’s partnerships with state-affiliated entities like Qatari Diar, chaired by a Qatari government minister, and Dar Global, which has ties to the Saudi government, have drawn scrutiny. Eric Trump, who has been promoting these projects in the Gulf region, attended a cryptocurrency conference in Dubai this week, further highlighting the family’s business activities ahead of the president’s trip.
The Simaisma project marks the Trump Organization’s debut in Qatar, while the Dubai tower adds to its growing portfolio in the Gulf, including planned developments in Riyadh, Jeddah, Oman, and Abu Dhabi. These ventures underscore the region’s appeal to luxury real estate investors, with Qatar and the UAE offering significant economic opportunities. However, the timing of these deals, coinciding with diplomatic engagements, has sparked debate about the intersection of business and politics.
