Search Intensifies for Missing Texas Teen Camila Mendoza Olmos

San Antonio, Texas — Authorities in Bexar County are ramping up efforts to locate 19-year-old Camila Mendoza Olmos, who vanished from her northwest San Antonio home on Christmas Eve morning, with officials warning she may be in "imminent danger."

Mendoza Olmos was last seen around 6:58 a.m. on December 24, 2025, outside her residence in the 11000 block of Caspian Spring. Surveillance footage from a neighbor's Ring camera captured an individual believed to be her searching inside her vehicle before walking away. Her mother, Rosario Olmos, reported that Camila often took morning walks but became alarmed when she did not return. The teen left her cellphone powered off in her room and took only her car keys and possibly her driver's license, leaving her vehicle behind.

On Monday, December 29, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar announced the release of new dashcam footage provided by a motorist heading to work that morning. The video shows a pedestrian, believed to be Mendoza Olmos based on matching clothing—a baby-blue and black hoodie, baby-blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes—walking northbound on Wildhorse Parkway, about two blocks from her home. "If this is indeed her, we've got what we believe to be a good direction of flight," Salazar said during a news conference.

Investigators believe Mendoza Olmos left on foot voluntarily, but they have not ruled out foul play, including abduction or human trafficking. Sheriff Salazar noted indications of past mental health concerns, such as suicidal ideation, though her family disputes any ongoing depression. A recent mutual breakup was mentioned but deemed non-suspicious. Authorities confirmed she is not in ICE detention and are working with the FBI and Department of Homeland Security to check outbound flights and border crossings as a precaution.

The case triggered a CLEAR Alert from the Texas Department of Public Safety, reserved for missing adults believed to be in imminent danger. Ground searches involving deputies, volunteers, and family members have covered several square miles, with community members using drones and maps to assist.

Mendoza Olmos's father, Alfonso Mendoza, spoke publicly, saying, "I miss her. Daddy’s waiting for her at home." Family members, including relatives who traveled from California, continue pleading for her safe return, emphasizing her faith and close-knit relationships.

As of December 30, 2025, Camila Mendoza Olmos remains missing, with no confirmed sightings beyond the dashcam video.

Two other teenage girls—17-year-old Angelique Johnson and 14-year-old Sofia Peters-Cobos—have been reported missing in Bexar County within the past week, raising public concern. However, authorities state there is no evidence linking the cases at this time and are investigating each separately. 17GEN4.com
