SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The Scottsdale Police Department is ramping up efforts to identify and apprehend three suspects involved in a shooting at a bus stop in Old Town Scottsdale that left one man injured. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, May 24, 2025, near Main Street and Scottsdale Road, has prompted a public appeal for information as authorities work to piece together the events leading to the violent encounter.

According to police reports, the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that began on a bus around 7:30 p.m. The dispute involved a group of three individuals—two men and one woman—and another male passenger. The situation escalated when one suspect assaulted the victim and fled the bus. As the victim pursued the assailant, a second suspect, described as a male wearing a black hoodie, allegedly shot the victim before all three suspects fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound and has since been released, with police confirming his condition as stable.

Scottsdale Police have released a photo of the three unidentified suspects, identifying the male in the center, wearing a black hoodie, as the suspected shooter. The department is urging anyone with information to contact the Scottsdale Police tip line at 480-312-TIPS (8477). “We are asking the public for help in identifying these individuals to bring clarity and resolution to this incident,” said Scottsdale Police Sgt. Allison Sempsis in a statement on May 27.

The shooting has raised concerns among Old Town residents and business owners, given the area’s popularity as a vibrant destination for tourists and locals alike. Authorities have emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community but are prioritizing the apprehension of the suspects to ensure public safety.

As of May 29, 2025, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active. Police are reviewing security footage and witness statements to gather additional leads. The Scottsdale Police Department continues to encourage community members to come forward with any details, no matter how small, that could assist in identifying the suspects.

This incident follows other recent police activity in Scottsdale, including a separate shooting on May 20 near Miller and McDowell Roads, where one man was killed, and another was arrested. However, authorities have not indicated any connection between the two events.
