SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A suspect wanted in connection with a murder in Scottsdale was arrested late Saturday night after a vigilant citizen spotted the individual and alerted authorities, Scottsdale police announced.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released pending further investigation, was taken into custody without incident around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Cactus Road. Police say the arrest followed a tip from a local resident who recognized the suspect from descriptions provided in a recent law enforcement bulletin.
“This arrest is a testament to the power of community cooperation,” said Scottsdale Police Chief Daniel Carter in a statement. “We are grateful for the public’s assistance in helping us bring this individual into custody swiftly and safely.”
Authorities have not disclosed details about the murder, including the victim’s identity or the circumstances surrounding the crime, citing an ongoing investigation. Police confirmed the suspect is being held at a local detention facility and faces charges related to the homicide.
