United Kingdom

Jeffrey Epstein cultivated close relationships with several prominent British figures, leveraging social and business ties that persisted even after his 2008 conviction for soliciting prostitution from a minor.

  • Prince Andrew, Duke of York: Epstein and Prince Andrew shared a longstanding friendship dating back to the early 1990s, marked by social outings including parties in St. Tropez and Thailand. The prince flew on Epstein's private jet multiple times and visited his properties, including his New York mansion and Palm Beach estate. Court documents and victim testimonies, such as those from Virginia Giuffre, allege that Epstein trafficked Giuffre to Andrew for sex when she was 17, claims that Andrew has denied, leading to a 2022 civil settlement where he paid an undisclosed sum without admitting liability. Buckingham Palace has repeatedly denied any improper behavior by Andrew. Leaked emails reveal their contact continued far longer than Andrew claimed; he stated in 2019 that he cut ties in 2010, but a February 2011 email from Andrew (or a royal family member) to Epstein read, "Keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!!!!" Additionally, in December 2015, Andrew shared details with Epstein about a potential business venture for private security services targeting wealthy Chinese families in Beijing amid rising kidnappings, with Epstein relaying this to Ehud Barak as coming directly from "Andrew."

  • Tony Blair, Former Prime Minister: Blair met Epstein at 10 Downing Street during his tenure as prime minister (1997–2007), a encounter reportedly facilitated by lobbying from Blair's close ally Peter Mandelson. Details of the meeting remain limited, but it underscores Epstein's access to high-level UK political circles.

  • Peter Mandelson, Former Cabinet Minister and UK Ambassador to the US: Mandelson, a key architect of Blair's New Labour government, had a personal friendship with Epstein that extended over years. He lobbied for Blair's meeting with Epstein and corresponded with him on various matters. These ties came under intense scrutiny in 2025, leading to Mandelson's abrupt dismissal as UK ambassador to Washington in September amid leaked documents highlighting the depth of their association. Mandelson has not been accused of wrongdoing related to Epstein's crimes.

Israel

Epstein's connections in Israel centered on intelligence and business networks, with leaked emails providing insight into his dealings.

  • Ehud Barak, Former Prime Minister and Defense Minister: Barak and Epstein maintained a close personal and professional relationship spanning over a decade, involving frequent visits, investments, and shared business interests in technology and security. Barak visited Epstein's New York townhouse multiple times (up to 30–35 occasions, per reports) and his private island, Little St. James, which he described in emails as "impressive" while coordinating discreet access without security. In 2015, Epstein invested $1 million in a limited partnership for Barak's iron-dome startup, Carbyne, which has ties to Israeli intelligence. Leaked emails from Barak's inbox show he was alerted to Epstein's allegations as early as 2011, when his assistant forwarded Daily Mail articles detailing Virginia Giuffre's accusations against Epstein (and falsely naming Barak in one, which he denied). In 2016, Epstein shared details with Barak about his post-conviction activities, including housing young women at his mansion, some allegedly supplied by a Russian associate. Epstein also referenced Prince Andrew as a source for business tips in emails to Barak. Barak has stated he was unaware of Epstein's sex-trafficking operations until the 2019 arrest and cut ties after the 2008 plea deal.

Recent investigations, including a 2025 Drop Site News series, have explored Epstein's broader links to Israeli intelligence, suggesting he brokered deals involving Barak and other figures, though Barak has denied any intelligence-related involvement.

Other Countries

Epstein's international footprint included travel and shadowy dealings, but documented ties to political figures elsewhere are sparser and often indirect:

  • Saudi Arabia: Epstein entered the kingdom in the 1980s using a fake Austrian passport under the alias "Alfredo Rocco DiModena," found in his safe alongside cash and diamonds. This suggests efforts to cultivate or access Saudi elites, potentially including royals, though no specific politicians or royals (such as Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman) have been directly linked in public records beyond unverified claims of Epstein possessing compromising information.

  • France: Epstein had operational ties through Ghislaine Maxwell and associate Jean-Luc Brunel, but connections to politicians like former President Nicolas Sarkozy appear tenuous or unconfirmed in available documents. French ministers called for probes into Epstein's French links in 2019, focusing on potential abuse networks rather than specific political figures.

Epstein's network often blurred lines between social access, business, and alleged blackmail, with recent 2025 document releases (including emails from the US House Oversight Committee) highlighting how he sustained these ties post-conviction by offering introductions, investments, and intelligence.

None of the named figures have been charged with crimes related to Epstein's trafficking ring, and many deny knowledge of his illicit activities.
