Recent Domain Sales: Shop.com to Shopify, Mogul.com at $1.3M, Broker Auctions | yesyoucango.com

The aftermarket’s late-September headline was a confirmed change of hands for Shop.com, followed within days by a verified seven-figure sale of Mogul.com and a steady run of five- and six-figure .com closes. Public auction calendars, meanwhile, have been quieter than expected after GoDaddy postponed a premium event that had been built around Brunch.com, Russian.com, and German.com.
Market America said on September 28 that it had completed the sale of Shop.com to Shopify and moved its own ecommerce operations to a rebuilt MarketAmerica.com. The company did not disclose a price. Domain broker Andrew Rosener of MediaOptions, who said he was not a party to the deal, later posted that the domain alone changed hands for $100 million. If that figure is confirmed, it would top the $70 million sale of AI.com reported earlier in 2026 and set a new public record for a domain-only transaction. Shop.com has since pointed to a Shopify-powered landing page. Until buyer or seller confirms the number, the $100 million claim remains a broker report rather than a closed, published price. The aftermarket’s late-September headline was a confirmed change of hands for Shop.com, followed within days by a verified seven-figure sale of Mogul.com and a steady run of five- and six-figure .com closes.
The largest fully reported sale of the past two weeks is Mogul.com, which NameBio recorded at $1.3 million on September 28 through LegalBrandMarketing. That single close helped push the day’s reported volume above $100 to about $1.89 million. Other notable late-September .com sales include Relationships.com at $226,000 on GoDaddy, Avive.com at $210,000 in a private deal, Growlr.com at $150,000 via DomainMarket.com, Fureur.com at $59,888 on DomainMarket.com, 66F.com at $56,000, and 57Bet.com at $45,501 on GoDaddy. Early October has been more modest: NowGoal.com sold for $36,000 at DropCatch on October 2, and the numeric 111666.com sold for $30,000 at GoDaddy on October 3. NameBio’s daily tallies for those sessions ran in the $500,000–$730,000 range for sales of $100 or more. domain.news dn.com
The year’s upper tier still belongs to dictionary .coms. Trackers list AI.com at $70 million, Club.com at $10 million, and Green.com at $7.5 million, with Hilco Digital Assets handling several of the institutional dictionary-word closes, including Club.com and Green.com. Midnight.com, NAS.com, and HighLevel.com have also been reported in the seven-figure or near-seven-figure band. Short brandables, numeric strings, and betting-related names continue to fill the five-figure tier on GoDaddy, Sedo, Afternic, Atom.com, and DropCatch. On the broker and auction side, the names drawing the most advance attention were Brunch.com, Russian.com, and German.com. GoDaddy had scheduled them as the headliners of a no-reserve Premium Auction Event of more than 2,000 domains, with bidding set to open September 30 and close October 6–7. The company later postponed the event and said ordinary auctions and listings would continue. Afternic, which absorbed Dan.com’s listings after that platform shut down in 2025, remains the main passive network for premium .com buy-now and make-offer inventory; one aggregator recently showed Artisans.com listed there at a $1 million ask. Sedo continues to clear both retail .coms and country-code names, including xName.com at $25,007 in late September. Live GoDaddy expired auctions this week have been mostly mid-market, with names such as Vivebank.com drawing a double-digit bid count rather than the postponed one-word headliners. GoDaddy blog
