  • 1461: The Battle of Towton took place during the Wars of the Roses in England. It was one of the largest and bloodiest battles fought on English soil, with the Yorkist forces defeating the Lancastrians, leading to Edward IV becoming king.

  • 1806: The United States authorized the construction of the Great National Pike, later known as the Cumberland Road (and eventually part of U.S. Route 40). It was a significant step in improving infrastructure and westward expansion.

  • 1871: The Royal Albert Hall in London was opened by Queen Victoria. It remains one of the most iconic concert halls in the world.
