Washington, D.C. – June 19, 2025 – Tesla CEO and tech mogul Elon Musk has hinted at an imminent announcement that could unmask the alleged financial backers behind a wave of violent attacks targeting Tesla dealerships and customers across the United States in 2025. The provocative claim comes as Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) ignites a firestorm in Congress, demanding a subpoena for billionaire philanthropist George Soros, whom she accuses of evading accountability for funding disruptive political movements.

The attacks on Tesla properties, ranging from arson and gunfire to vandalism, have escalated since early 2025, with the FBI labeling them acts of “domestic terrorism.” Authorities have linked some incidents to public outrage over Musk’s role as a special government employee leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a Trump administration initiative aimed at slashing federal spending. The violence, which included Molotov cocktails hurled at Tesla showrooms and defaced Cybertrucks, has prompted a nationwide investigation by the Department of Justice into potential coordinated funding networks.

On his social media platform X, Musk claimed in March 2025 that an unspecified “investigation” pointed to five activist groups—Troublemakers, Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project, and Democratic Socialists of America—as orchestrators of anti-Tesla protests, allegedly funded through ActBlue, a Democratic fundraising platform. Musk named Soros, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and other prominent donors as key financial backers, though he provided no concrete evidence. Sources close to Musk now suggest he is preparing to release new details that could substantiate these claims, potentially implicating high-profile figures in a coordinated effort to undermine Tesla’s operations. Tesla representatives declined to comment on the timing or nature of the announcement.

Meanwhile, Rep. Luna has thrust the issue into the congressional spotlight. In a fiery X post on June 18, 2025, she questioned why Congress has never subpoenaed Soros, whose Open Society Foundations have donated billions to progressive causes worldwide. “Why am I the first one to bring this up? This should have been done a long time ago,” Luna wrote, framing Soros as a “puppet master” behind movements destabilizing conservative agendas. Her call for a subpoena has drawn polarized reactions, with supporters praising her boldness and critics dismissing it as a politically motivated stunt lacking evidence.

The Soros allegations remain contentious. Musk previously accused Soros of funding protests, citing a New York Post report that Indivisible, a group tied to Tesla protests, received over $7 million from Soros’s network since 2017. However, Reid Hoffman, another named donor, denied any involvement, calling Musk’s claims a “smear from a delusional man searching for a scapegoat.” ActBlue, under scrutiny for unrelated campaign finance issues, has stated it merely facilitates donations, not directly funds protests. No public evidence has yet linked Soros or other donors to the violent attacks, distinct from peaceful anti-Tesla demonstrations organized by groups like the “Tesla Takedown” movement.

The FBI’s task force, formed in March, has arrested individuals like Lucy Grace Nelson and Daniel Clarke-Pounder for specific attacks, but broader funding sources remain elusive. Attorney General Pam Bondi has vowed to pursue those “operating behind the scenes,” though no official updates have confirmed Musk’s allegations. Political analysts suggest Musk’s forthcoming announcement could either bolster the investigation or risk inflaming tensions without substantiation, given his history of polarizing statements.

As the nation awaits Musk’s revelation, Luna’s push for a Soros subpoena faces an uphill battle in a divided Congress. Republicans blocked earlier Democratic attempts to subpoena Musk himself over DOGE’s actions, signaling entrenched partisan lines. Whether Musk’s claims and Luna’s demands will yield accountability or deepen political divides remains uncertain, but the saga underscores the volatile intersection of wealth, power, and activism in 2025 America.
