Maria Bartiromo Out at Fox News After 12½ Years in Sudden Exit

Fox News Media announced Thursday that Maria Bartiromo is no longer with the network. Her shows Mornings with Maria and Sunday Morning Futures will get new hosts as no reason was given for the unexpected departure.


NEW YORK — Fox News Media announced Thursday that veteran financial journalist Maria Bartiromo is no longer with the company after more than 12 years, in a sudden departure that takes effect immediately.


The network provided no explanation for the split. In a brief statement, Fox News Media said: “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter.”


Bartiromo’s final episode of Mornings with Maria on Fox Business Network aired Thursday morning. The program will be rebranded as Mornings with FOX Business starting Friday and will use rotating anchors. Her weekly Friday evening show, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street, is being renamed FBN’s Wall Street; Cheryl Casone will host this week before rotating anchors take over. Fox Business also plans to announce a new weekday programming schedule in the coming weeks.


On Fox News Channel, Sunday Morning Futures will be hosted this weekend by Jason Chaffetz. A permanent replacement has not been named.


The announcement came as a surprise. Bartiromo made no mention of an impending departure during her final broadcast. The move has drawn comparisons to Fox’s unexpected 2023 ouster of primetime host Tucker Carlson.


Bartiromo, 58, joined Fox Business Network as global markets editor in January 2014 after two decades at CNBC. There she became a pioneering figure in financial television, becoming the first journalist to report live daily from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange in 1995. She hosted Closing Bell and On the Money with Maria Bartiromo and earned two Emmy Awards. She was often nicknamed the “Money Honey.”


At Fox she built a prominent platform across both Fox Business and Fox News. Mornings with Maria became a leading pre-market business program, and Sunday Morning Futures regularly ranked among the highest-rated Sunday shows in cable news. She frequently interviewed President Donald Trump and other high-profile business and political figures. In 2026 she received the Horatio Alger Award. 17GEN4.com



It remains unclear whether Bartiromo resigned or was let go. She has not issued a public statement as of Thursday afternoon. Permanent replacements for her programs have not been announced.
