CHICAGO — A romantic evening walk turned tragic in Chicago’s South Loop on Sunday night when a 39-year-old man was shot in the head while walking with his fiancée, police said. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. near the 2100 block of South Wabash Avenue, a bustling area known for its proximity to restaurants and cultural attractions.
According to the Chicago Police Department, the couple was walking along the sidewalk when an unknown assailant approached and fired a single shot, striking the man in the head. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
