SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A man is in critical condition following a hit-and-run crash in Old Town Scottsdale early Sunday morning, May 25, 2025, according to police. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. near Main Street and Scottsdale Road, leaving the victim seriously injured and prompting a search for the driver who fled the scene.

The Scottsdale Police Department reported that officers responded to the area after receiving calls about a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, they found the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Emergency responders rushed the man to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Authorities have not released details about what led to the collision or a description of the suspect vehicle, as the investigation is ongoing.

The crash temporarily closed parts of Main Street and Scottsdale Road, a busy intersection in the heart of Old Town, while investigators collected evidence. The roads have since reopened. Police are appealing to the public for any information or witness accounts that could help identify the driver responsible.

This incident marks another hit-and-run in Old Town Scottsdale, following a similar case reported by AZFamily on February 24, 2025, where a pedestrian was seriously injured near 68th Street and Camelback Road. In that case, the driver also fled, and no vehicle description was provided, highlighting the challenges law enforcement faces in such investigations. The Scottsdale Police Department’s efforts to enhance traffic safety, including a recent $6,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for the “Click It or Ticket” campaign, underscore the urgency of addressing reckless driving in the area.
