NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A 19-year-old illegal immigrant, Raymundo Juan Reyes Cornelio, was arrested in Tennessee on April 11, 2025, charged with the rape of a child after allegedly impregnating an 11-year-old girl he met on Facebook. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed the arrest, stating that the victim, now 12, gave birth to a baby boy on February 14, 2025, which prompted the investigation.
According to police reports, the girl disclosed to detectives that she had a single sexual encounter with Cornelio in May 2024, after connecting with him through the social media platform. Authorities executed a search warrant on Cornelio’s Facebook account, which provided his name and telephone number, leading to his identification and subsequent arrest. Cornelio reportedly admitted to the crime, police said.
The suspect is currently being held at the Downtown Detention Center on a $75,000 bond and is subject to an ICE detainer hold, indicating that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has requested his detention for potential deportation proceedings. Details regarding Cornelio’s immigration status, including his country of origin or how long he has been in the United States, were not disclosed in official reports.
