PHILADELPHIA, PA — October 20, 2025 — Authorities have confirmed that human remains discovered on Saturday belong to Kada Scott, a 23-year-old Philadelphia woman reported missing nearly a week ago. The identification marks a grim development in a case that has gripped the local community.

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office announced the findings on Monday, stating that suspect Keon King, previously detained in connection with Scott’s disappearance, now faces additional charges. While specific details of the new charges were not disclosed, the DA’s office indicated that homicide charges are under consideration, pending further evidence to establish probable cause.

“We are working diligently to ensure all necessary evidence is meticulously reviewed,” a spokesperson for the District Attorney’s Office said. “Homicide charges against Keon King will be filed when we can very precisely confirm everything we need for probable cause.”

Scott’s disappearance sparked widespread concern after she was last seen in the city’s downtown area. Community members and volunteers had joined law enforcement in search efforts over the past week. The discovery of the remains, confirmed through forensic analysis, has left family and friends mourning the loss of the young woman described as vibrant and beloved.

Police have not released details about the circumstances surrounding Scott’s death or the condition of the remains, citing the ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Philadelphia Police Department.

The case continues to unfold as investigators work to build a comprehensive case against King. Further updates are expected as the District Attorney’s Office finalizes its review.
