A Blizzard Warning has been issued for parts of southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana due to an unusual and powerful winter storm moving across the South. This storm is bringing significant amounts of snow, with the Houston metropolitan area potentially receiving four to six inches, and some areas in south Louisiana expecting up to 10 inches. The National Weather Service has highlighted that this could be the most significant winter weather event for these regions in decades, with visibility expected to drop below a quarter of a mile due to blowing snow and wind gusts exceeding 35 mph. The warnings are in effect until noon on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Authorities are urging residents to avoid travel due to the extreme danger posed by the conditions, especially since these areas are not typically equipped for such severe winter weather. 17GEN4.com
