Scottsdale police are investigating after gunfire hit several homes in a residential neighborhood early Sunday morning, with officers responding to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired near 7300 E. Papago Drive.
According to the Scottsdale Police Department, officers arrived to find several shell casings in the street. Investigators determined that shots were fired in the front yard and backyard of a home in the area, as well as in the street nearby. Additional nearby homes were also struck by gunfire. Police questioned several people at the residence and other residents in the neighborhood as part of the response.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests had been announced as of the latest available updates on Sunday. In a statement Sunday morning, police said, “At this time, the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known ongoing threat to the community. We ask the public to please avoid the area while officers and detectives continue their investigation.” The incident remains under active investigation by Scottsdale detectives.
The early-morning disturbance drew multiple emergency calls from residents who reported hearing gunshots. Authorities have not released further details on a possible motive, suspects, or the specific circumstances leading to the gunfire. Residents were advised to stay clear of the scene while evidence collection and interviews continued.
This marks one of several gun-related incidents reported in the greater Phoenix/Scottsdale area over the weekend, though police emphasized that the Papago Drive shooting appeared contained and unrelated to any broader ongoing threat. Officials continue to ask anyone with information to contact Scottsdale police.
