Kurnool Shocker: Four Arrested for Allegedly Injecting Doctor with HIV-Infected Blood in Revenge Plot
Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh – In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves across the state, police have arrested four individuals, including a nurse and her two adult children, for allegedly injecting a woman doctor with HIV-positive blood as part of a calculated revenge scheme.
The incident, which came to light recently, stems from a personal grudge. According to police investigations, the primary accused—a 40-year-old nurse named Konge Jyothi, who works at a private hospital in Adoni—allegedly orchestrated the attack targeting the wife of her former lover, a doctor. Authorities say the nurse, unable to accept the man's marriage to another doctor, conspired with three accomplices to carry out the assault.
Reports indicate the group staged a road accident involving the victim's vehicle. Following the crash, the accused allegedly posed as medical personnel providing immediate care and administered an injection containing HIV-infected blood to the injured doctor. The infected blood was reportedly procured from patients at a government hospital under false pretenses, possibly related to research claims.
Kurnool Deputy Superintendent of Police J. Babu Prasad confirmed the arrests, stating that the four suspects—including the nurse and her children in their 20s—now face serious charges related to the premeditated act. The motive appears rooted in jealousy and a desire to disrupt the victim's marriage and life.
The case has triggered widespread public outrage, with many condemning the extreme nature of the alleged crime and calling for swift justice. Medical and legal experts have highlighted the gravity of deliberately transmitting a life-altering virus, which could carry severe legal consequences under Indian law, including provisions for attempted murder or grievous hurt.
Police continue their probe to determine the full sequence of events, the exact method of blood procurement, and any additional accomplices. The victim is reportedly receiving medical attention and monitoring for potential infection.
This chilling episode has reignited discussions about personal vendettas turning deadly and the misuse of medical access in crimes of passion. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation progresses.
