San Francisco, CA – January 29, 2026 – Vernon Davis, the former San Francisco 49ers tight end and Super Bowl champion widely regarded as one of the franchise's all-time greats, is facing assault and battery charges following accusations that he physically attacked a woman during an argument related to her pregnancy and an abortion.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by TMZ Sports and reported widely today, the unnamed woman alleges the incident occurred at Davis's home on May 31 of last year. The dispute reportedly centered on her pregnancy, escalating into a physical altercation in which Davis, now 41, allegedly struck her with magazines and books taken from his television stand. The complaint further claims that Davis offered her $10,000 during the encounter.

The woman stated that when she pulled out her phone to record the incident, Davis immediately stopped his actions. Days later, on June 7, another argument allegedly took place after she accused him of lying. In that instance, she claims he slapped her in the face while they were on a couch and warned her "not to question him."

An arrest warrant for Davis was issued on January 8 on charges of assault and battery. He is scheduled to appear in court in February.Davis, a sixth overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, enjoyed a standout 14-year career, primarily with the 49ers, where he earned Pro Bowl honors and helped the team reach Super Bowl XLVII. He later played for the Denver Broncos and Washington Football Team before retiring. In recent years, the 41-year-old has transitioned into acting and various business ventures.

Neither Davis nor his representatives have publicly commented on the allegations as of this reporting.
