Former Fox Business Producer Jennifer Eckhart Found Dead in Florida Home
HOBE SOUND, Fla. — Jennifer Eckhart, a former Fox Business associate producer and podcast host, was found dead at her Martin County home over the weekend. She was 36. Authorities said the death has been ruled a suicide.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said Eckhart’s mother contacted deputies after arriving at the Hobe Sound residence Saturday and finding her daughter unresponsive in the master bathroom. Deputies and fire-rescue personnel responded shortly before noon. A paramedic pronounced her dead at 11:57 a.m. An incident report obtained by TMZ said a folding pocketknife was found nearby and that investigators observed laceration injuries. Crime-scene technicians and the medical examiner’s office were called to the scene. Sheriff’s spokesperson Christine Christofek said Eckhart appeared to have died by suicide. Law enforcement sources and a representative for the Martin County Medical Examiner’s Office later said the death was ruled a suicide. Some reports listed the date of death as Sept. 19.
Eckhart, a Miami native and University of Florida graduate, worked at Fox News and Fox Business from 2013 to 2020, rising to associate producer. After leaving the network she hosted the podcast “REINVENTED,” which featured guests from business, sports and entertainment discussing setbacks and recovery. The most recent episode, posted in March, featured former Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg.
She became widely known in 2020 when she sued former Fox News anchor Ed Henry, accusing him of rape and other sexual misconduct in 2017 while both worked at the network. Henry denied the allegations and said the relationship was consensual. Fox News fired Henry that July after an investigation into her complaint. Eckhart also sued the network, alleging it failed to protect her; those claims were dismissed by a federal judge and an appeals court later upheld the decision. She settled her claims against Henry in 2025. In a 2020 CBS News interview she said she had been “paralyzed by fear” while working at Fox. In July 2025 she was arrested in Palm Beach County on a battery charge after an alleged incident involving a boyfriend; that case was later dropped, according to reports.
The sheriff’s office did not immediately release further public details.
