The latest update on the FBI's investigation into the January 5, 2021, pipe bomb case includes the release of new video evidence. This video footage, released four years after the incident, shows the suspect planting one of the pipe bombs outside the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Republican National Committee (RNC) headquarters. The individual in the video is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a mask, glasses, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and carrying a backpack. The FBI has noted that this person was wearing black and light grey Nike Air Max Speed Turf shoes with a yellow logo.

The release of this video is part of an ongoing effort by the FBI to solicit public assistance in identifying the suspect. They are offering a reward of up to $500,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible. This case remains a priority for the FBI, as the devices were placed the night before the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, though no direct connection between the two events has been established. The FBI's actions indicate a continued push to solve this case, emphasizing the potential threat to public safety had these devices detonated.
