Mesa, Arizona – December 7, 2025  A man was arrested Friday night after allegedly allowing his 13-year-old daughter to take the wheel of his car, resulting in the vehicle smashing straight through the wall of a Mesa law firm. The crash, which unfolded just before 9 p.m. near the bustling intersection of Dobson and Baseline roads, mercifully spared anyone from serious injury—but not before causing significant damage to the office and sparking outrage over parental responsibility.

According to the Mesa Police Department, first responders raced to the scene after reports of a car veering off the roadway and barreling into the building housing th law firm. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic moment as the vehicle tore through the lobby, leaving behind shattered glass, scattered debris, and tire tracks etched into the floor like a bad crime scene reenactment.

The car went through the panels in the lobby and straight into the main conference room.

Miraculously, the building was empty at the time, with Briggs crediting sheer luck for the lack of casualties. Thank God the receptionist wasn't in there. Thank God there was no one meeting with clients. Photos released by police show boarded-up walls and a lobby in ruins, a stark reminder of how quickly a night out can turn disastrous.

The driver - A 13-year-old girl, who police say was behind the wheel with her father, Joey Kristopher Jansen, riding shotgun. Neither sustained injuries, but Jansen, the passenger and presumed architect of this ill-fated joyride, wasn't so lucky with the law. Officers swiftly slapped him with felony charges of endangerment and criminal damage, booking him into jail without delay. "This was an incredibly irresponsible decision that put not just his daughter, but everyone on the road and in that building, at risk," said a police spokesperson, emphasizing the department's zero-tolerance stance on such reckless parenting.

As cleanup crews descended on the site Saturday morning, staff from the affected firms scrambled to relocate operations, turning what was meant to be a quiet weekend into a logistical nightmare.

This isn't the first time underage driving has made headlines in the Valley, but the presence of a parent as an enabler elevates the case to a new level of scrutiny. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol, distraction, or something more sinister played a role, though no additional details have been released. Jansen's court date is pending, and the 13-year-old was released to other family members pending further review by child services.

What an incredibly stupid person. 17GEN4.com
