NEERGABBY, AUSTRALIA – Virginia Giuffre, a prominent figure in the Jeffrey Epstein sex-trafficking scandal and accuser of Britain’s Prince Andrew, died by suicide on Friday, April 25, 2025, at her farm in the Perth suburb of Neergabby, Western Australia. She was 41 years old. Her family confirmed the tragic news in a statement to NBC News, describing her as a “fierce warrior” in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking (Sky News, 2025).

Giuffre, born Virginia Roberts in California in 1983, became one of the most high-profile victims of Epstein, alleging she was sexually trafficked to influential men, including Prince Andrew, when she was a teenager. A now-iconic 2001 photograph of Giuffre with Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell became a focal point in the royal’s 2019 Newsnight interview, which led to his withdrawal from public duties (BBC, 2025). Giuffre’s allegations, though denied by Andrew, resulted in a reported £12 million settlement in a civil lawsuit (The Independent, 2025).

In recent weeks, Giuffre’s life had been marked by personal struggles. On March 30, she posted on Instagram claiming she had “four days to live” after a car crash involving a school bus, alleging kidney failure. Western Australia Police later described the March 24 incident as a “minor crash” with no reported injuries, and Giuffre was discharged from Perth’s Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in early April (ABC News, 2025; Sky News, 2025). Her cryptic social media posts, including one showing a bruised face, sparked concern and speculation, with some, including Prince Andrew’s ex-girlfriend Lady Victoria Hervey, questioning the veracity of her claims (Daily Mail, 2025).

Giuffre’s publicist, Dini von Mueffling, praised her as “deeply loving, wise, and funny,” noting her role as a beacon for survivors (WPBF, 2025). Her family’s statement highlighted her advocacy, saying she was a “light that lifted so many survivors” (The Guardian, 2025). However, her death has left lingering questions, with the BBC noting that “much remains unknown about her last days or personal circumstances” (BBC, 2025).

The news has prompted varied reactions. Posts on X expressed sorrow for Giuffre’s suffering as an Epstein victim while calling for accountability for those involved in the scandal (X posts, 2025). Meanwhile, Hervey’s Instagram post implying Giuffre’s “lies” caught up with her drew sharp criticism, with critics labeling it “vile” (Daily Mail, 2025).

Giuffre’s death marks a somber chapter in the ongoing Epstein saga, leaving her legacy as both a survivor and advocate in sharp focus.
