DOJ, FBI Act Against AI Election Threats

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are intensifying efforts to combat threats against election workers, which have seen a significant increase. Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray have expressed concerns over the threats, which they believe endanger democracy. The DOJ plans to use federal law enforcement to investigate and prosecute threats, including those involving artificial intelligence. Tougher sentences are being considered for crimes where AI is used to threaten election workers or suppress voting. The Election Threats Task Force is actively working to address these issues. 17GEN4.com
