LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Washington Commanders star cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested Wednesday evening in Lakewood, Ohio, on charges related to firearms, according to police records.
Lakewood police took the 29-year-old into custody around 6:14 p.m. on January 7 in the 11700 block of Clifton Boulevard. He faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Lattimore, a Cleveland native and former standout at Glenville High School and Ohio State University, was booked into the Lakewood jail and later released pending further investigation.
The Washington Commanders issued a statement Thursday: "We have been made aware of the arrest and are gathering more information. We are in communication with the NFL League Office and have no further comment at this time."
The arrest comes shortly after Lattimore's 2025 season was cut short by a torn ACL suffered in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. The four-time Pro Bowl selection, drafted 11th overall by the New Orleans Saints in 2017 before being traded to Washington, appeared in limited action this year.
This is not Lattimore's first brush with weapons-related charges in the Cleveland area. In 2021, while with the Saints, he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor concealed weapon charge stemming from a traffic stop where a loaded handgun in his possession was found to have been reported stolen.
Details surrounding Wednesday's incident remain limited, and no further charges have been announced as the investigation continues. The NFL has not yet commented publicly beyond the team's acknowledgment. 17GEN4.com
