Federal prosecutors have requested that Steve Bannon, former adviser to Donald Trump, begin serving his four-month prison sentence for contempt of Congress immediately. This follows the rejection of his appeal by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, with the Department of Justice arguing that there is no longer a substantial question of law awaiting appeal. The motion to lift the stay on his sentence was filed after the unanimous affirmation of Bannon's conviction by the D.C. Circuit.
