EDMOND, Okla. (17GEN4 News) — Emergency responders swarmed a campground near Arcadia Lake late Sunday night after multiple shots rang out during a large gathering of young people, leaving at least 10 to 12 individuals hospitalized with gunshot wounds and triggering a major law enforcement investigation across the Oklahoma City metro area.

The shooting erupted around 9 p.m. CT on May 3 at Spring Creek Park, a popular spot for picnicking, camping, and recreation about 13 miles north of Oklahoma City. Authorities described the event as a party involving "young adults," reportedly promoted on social media as a "Sunday Funday" gathering with music and dancing under a pavilion.

Edmond Police Department spokesperson Emily Ward confirmed that officers, along with Oklahoma City Police and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, responded to reports of gunfire and located multiple victims at the scene. Ten people were transported by ambulance to area hospitals in "various conditions," while additional victims reportedly drove themselves for treatment, pushing the total number of injured to at least a dozen.

As of early Monday, no fatalities have been reported, though officials cautioned that victim conditions were still being assessed and the final count could change. There is no known ongoing threat to the public, police said.

Police block roads and respond with heavy presence near Arcadia Lake following the shooting.

No arrests have been made. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and victims across the metro area as they work to identify suspects. Edmond police urged anyone with information to contact their tip line.

Arcadia Lake is a well-known recreational destination in the region, drawing crowds for outdoor activities. The sudden violence at what appeared to be a casual social event has shocked the community.

The investigation remains active, with authorities continuing to piece together the sequence of events. Updates are expected as more details emerge.
