A former City Colleges basketball coach has been sentenced to probation for forging employment documents so people on electronic monitoring could get permission to leave their homes for jobs they did not really have

A former City Colleges of Chicago basketball coach, Edmond Pryor, has been sentenced to 24 months of probation with 180 hours of community service for forging employment records. Pryor pleaded guilty to the crime, which allowed individuals on electronic monitoring to leave their homes for jobs they did not actually have.

Details of the Case

Pryor, 44, was accused of forging employment records, including phone and fax numbers, to make it appear as though individuals on electronic monitoring were employed by companies such as UPS and Amazon. He received nearly 100 calls from the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to verify the employment of individuals on electronic monitoring.

Other Individuals Involved

Two other individuals, Desmond White and Anthony Younger, were also involved in the scheme. White received a four-year prison sentence for forgery, while Younger was sentenced to probation. At least four other men have been charged in connection with the scheme.

Electronic Monitoring

Electronic monitoring is a condition of probation that requires individuals to wear an ankle bracelet to track their movements. The system is designed to ensure that individuals on probation do not leave their homes without permission. Pryor’s actions compromised the integrity of the system and allowed individuals to leave their homes for jobs they did not actually have. 17GEN4.com
